Ultrasound Therapy
Ultrasound Therapy is a non-invasive treatment of musculoskeletal complaints. It is performed by a trained professional.
The ultrasound sends waves that passes through the tissue causing molecular vibration, producing thermal and non-thermal effects.
Temperature rise will result in hyperaemia, which has a therapeutic effect on damaged tissue and may initiate the resolution of chronic inflammatory problems.
The non-thermal effects, cavitation (gas bubble formation) and acoustic streaming (physical forces of the soundwave that displace the ions and small molecules) produce cellular activity, promoting tissue repair.
